  • Jul. 16, 1969 - Election in Germany. The German parties began their fight on September 28, 1969. Election meetings are currently occurring in most of the major German cities. In those meetings the top officials of each of the parties, like Chancellor Kiesinger, Finance Minister Franz Josef Strauss, and SPD-chairman Willy Brandt put forth their programs. The NPD is trying this time to be successful in obtaining seats in the Bundestag. The CDU CSU have emerged in the strongest position.   • Jun. 13, 1969 - The CSU began the campaign for the federal election in Munich with their party convention. Federal Finance Minister and Party Chairman Franz Josef Strau? opened the convention after internal proceedings. Over 600 delegates and around 1500 guests had come to the Bavarian capital for this purpose. Throughout the conference the delegates for the varying posts were discussed.   • Feb. 14, 1969 - Sky Scraper for members of Bonn Parliament : During the days when Eugen Gerstenmaier was still president of the parliament, this sky scraper with 29 floors has been planned. It was called the long Eugen . But now another man has become president Kai -Uwe Von Hassel. He is the new landlord and with the change of persons, the name of the house changed as well. It is now called simply Uns Uwe . The sky-scraper has a total of 446 rooms for all the MP s as well as a hearing hall, rooms for the different committees, and a cafeteria in the last floor. The building costs amounted to 48 million mark with additional 4 millions for the i~~~e equipment.
