  • Jul. 07, 1957 - Victor Riesel visits Germany The American journalists Victor Riesel (43) who had been attacked by a criminal with sulphuric acid on April 5, 1956 in New York and has thus lost his eye-sight, arrived for a three-week visit in the Federal Republic of Germany on July 14, 1957 by invitation of the German Press Office. Riesel became well-known through his campaign against the gangsters in the unions of the USA. After paying a several-day visit to Bonn where he will be received on July 16, 1957 by the German Chancellor Konrad Adenauer, Riesel will make a trip through the Federal Republic of Germany and collect date on the German re-union and the communist infiltration - as well as neo-fascist infiltration - of the workers. It is probable that he will also consult German eye-specialists. OPS;- Riesel (with dark glasses) during an interview by German journalists after his arrival - ZUMAk09
