  • Antiquitäten Kunst Keramik Wandmalereien Farbe Fotografie Bildhauerei 6. Juni 1964 – Enthüllung eines Denkmals für die Flugpioniere am Londoner Flughafen: Der RT. Hon. AT Lennox-Boyd, Minister für Verkehr und Zivilluftfahrt, enthüllte heute Morgen am Londoner Flughafen das Denkmal für die Flugpioniere Sir. John Alcock und Sir Arthur Whitten Brown. Die Zeremonie wurde von Lord Brabazon of Tara, dem Präsidenten des Royal Acro Clubs, organisiert – und heute jährt sich die Ankunft von Alcock und Brown in Irland am Ende ihrer Nonstop-Atlantiküberquerung in einer Vickers Vimy zum 35. Mal. Das Denkmal ist das Werk von Mr. William McMillan RA und die Kosten betragen 5.000 £, die größtenteils aus öffentlichen Spenden stammen.
