  • Italy: Republic Day, seventy-fifth anniversary of the birth The birth of the Italian Republic occurred on June 2, 1946, following the results of the institutional referendum held that day to determine the form of government after the end of the Second World War. This morning the Mayor of Pagani, Raffaele Maria De Prisco, with the presence of other councillors, laid a wreath of laurel at the foot of the Monument of the Young Italy (War Memorial) in Piazza Bernardo D Arezzo.
