  • Klassischer Holzstuhl der Firma Thonet, aufgehängt an der Hausfassade eines Antiquitätenhändlers in Boppard am Rhein (Rheinland-Pfalz). Der Gründer des Familienunternehmens Thonet, Michael Thonet (1796 - 1871), war ein deutsch-österreichischer Tischlermeister, der zunächst eine Tischlerei in Boppard betrieb. 1842 zog er nach Wien. Seit 1953 hat die Thonet GmbH ihren Hauptsitz in Frankenberg (Hessen).
