August 26, 2026, Kathmandu, Nepal: Aerial view of the extensive destruction caused by a flash flood in Rasuwa, Nepal, after the Lende River flowing from Tibet, China, surged and merged with the Bhote Koshi River. The flood swept away houses and infrastructure and damaged settlements in the Timure area near the Nepal-China border. The disaster also disrupted electricity and telephone services and affected hydropower facilities in the region. The Nepal Army and other security agencies have intensified search, rescue and relief operations for people stranded in the affected areas.
