October 17, 2026, New York City, New York, USA: NEW YORK, NEW YORK - OCTOBER 17, 2026: A costumed dog marches in the 36th Annual Tompkins Square Halloween Dog Parade, billed as the worldâ€⠢s largest dog parade, as it travels south along Avenue B from East 13th Street to East 7th Street at Tompkins Square Park in the East Village of New York City. The parade, which dates back to 1990, is organized by the nonprofit New York Dog Parade, founded by Fern Watt, and presented this year by pet-food brand Kismet. The 2026 event, held in celebration of Adopt a Shelter Dog Month in partnership with the ASPCA and Animal Care Centers of NYC, stepped off at 11:00 a.m. and included a limited-entry costume competition for registered participants.
