A lunar eclipse was visible over southern Louisiana. The lunar eclipse was visible across much of North and South America and parts of Europe and Africa between August 27 and 28. The full moon passed through Earth’s shadow on August 27, continuing into August 28 in some parts of the world, resulting in the lunar eclipse. At the peak of the eclipse, the Moon takes on a dramatic dark, ruddy, or coppery tint along the edge that is in shadow.
