Palestinians Queue for Bread Amid Flour Shortages in Khan Younis Palestinians line up outside a bakery in Khan Younis, southern Gaza Strip, on October 24, 2026, amid severe shortages of flour and food supplies. The queues come as warnings mount over dwindling flour stocks and the possible closure of more bakeries after Abdel Nasser al-Ajrami, head of the Bakers Association in Gaza, said on October 22 that flour supplies had run out and that only seven of 20 bakeries remained operational, with the rest at risk of shutting down unless new supplies arrive. The crisis is worsening amid restrictions on commercial goods entering Gaza, while the World Food Programme (WFP) has reduced its food assistance in the territory due to funding shortages.
